The Institute for Renewable Energy is searching for a

senior scientist

in the field of energy and buildings

Responsibilities:

Coordination of a research group and implementation of applied research activities on energy aspects in buildings, especially energetical renovation of existing / historic buildings and combination of passive and solar active systems. This includes:

• Monitoring and optimisation of low energy buildings
• Dynamic simulations of energy and moisture aspects in buildings
• Supervision of the set up of an experimental test facility for active solar elements in building envelopes
• Development, acquisition and organisation of EU projects and industry projects
• Leadership of a group of researchers, supervision of Master and PhD theses

Requirements:

• PhD or comparable academic degree in a relevant field
• Multiple years of post graduate research experience and project leadership
• Familiarity with simulation tools such as TRNSYS
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team
• Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken
• Excellent knowledge of German or Italian, written and spoken; and the motivation to learn to communicate in the other language
