Project goal

The aim of the project is to compile scientifically sound knowledge pertaining to the past and the future development of the agrarian sector in the Alps. The acquired agri-economical findings will be combined with relevant socio-economical data, to estimate future developments affecting habitats and natural spaces in the Alpine region. The goal of the project is to contribute to the discussion about agriculture in the Alps and to provide information to all who concern themselves with the Alpine Region, professionally or privately.
AGRALP is meant to contribute to the discussion on the development of agriculture in the Alpine Range. Suggestions and information are welcome and can be sent to the listed contact persons
.

For this purpose AGRALP is developing thematic Alpine maps, statistical analyses, and scientific publications on key subjects relevant to the future of the Alps. The results will be made available to the public on the internet via the Alpine Observation and Information System (ABIS). In addition, the project supports the German Federal Environmental Agency Work Group, "Environmental Goals and Indicators", whose goal it is to develop a pan-alpine indicator system for the Alpine Status Report.
