The Remote Sensing School Lab (RS School Lab) is part of a EURAC-wide programme called 'EURAC Junior'. 'EURAC Junior' aims to bring science to the public and in particular into schools, by organizing 'hands-on' workshops designed for pupils and teachers.

During workshops of approximately 3 hours the RS School Lab introduces Earth Observation technologies to pupils and their teachers by using state-of-the-art tools (such as the ESA-EDUSPACE software 'Leoworks'). The objective of these events is to introduce students to natural science and pave the way for integrating remote sensing topics into future school curricula. To this end, teachers are provided with all necessary training material.

Our RS School Labs begin with an interactive presentation about the basic principles of remote sensing, followed by practical exercises with remote sensing data. During these exercises the pupils are guided by the Institute's scientists who give detailed explanation of current questions and emerging topics in the field of remote sensing.

The School Labs are held in German, Italian or English. The workshops are tailored for pupils who are at least 15 years old.
