Energy consumed by buildings accounts for over 40% of the energy usage in Europe. Schools are often accused of wasting energy as buildings tend to be older and less efficient. Even new buildings can be big energy wasters as lights can be left on needlessly; and the heating and cooling systems can be poorly designed, out of balance, or in need of maintenance. For this reasons Eurac's institute for renewable energy look at this project as:

1. a good channel to comunicate and make the young aware of the energy and envinroment problems;

2. the possibility to have an energy saving as well as economic;

The previous objectives will be obtained thanks to many activities, which Eurac will either conduct or coordinate:

- school energy concept and measurement system as main actor;

- installation of the sensors and their calibrations as supervisor;

- data analysis and dissemination as consultant;

At the end of the project a few solutions for the school will be illustrated and in the near feature realized.
