Overview
The mission of the Institute for Renewable Energy consists of innovative and interdisciplinary research and development in cooperation with local and international partners in order to promote technologies making use of renewable energy as well as efficient energy management.
The institute supports industry customers in the launch of innovative technologies so that they can establish a competitive edge in the market. The profit and satisfaction of its customers are a measure of the institute's success.
Research activities are chosen according to market demands. The institute collaborates closely with leading European research institutes. Major priority is given to the ensuring of independence, neutrality and accuracy.

- Monitoring Project of Tione's High School
Educational project in cooperation with the school and the students including the monitoring of the installed energy system and data elaboration. The main goal is to promote an intelligent use of energy.
- Broschure on energetical renovation of existing and historic buildings
Elaboration of a guideline for the ernergetic renovation of existing buildings in cooperation with the Regional Office for Energy Efficiency.
- Low Energy - Database on Energy in buildings
Elaboration of a database in coopeartion with the University of Rome and Padua on behalf of CNA/SHV of Bolzano as an information base for energy efficiency and utilization of renewable energy in buildings.
- READY
European project in cooperation with several mining regions and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. Within the project a PV demonstration object has been realised by EURAC.
- RENERTEC
Establishment of a Regional Centre for Renewable Energy with the target to enhance the regional and business development within this field.
- Heating large historic buildings
In-house project for the elaboration of energy systems respecting requirements of comfort , preservation of historic buildings and costs.
- SiTaR OSTAN-PV
Elaboration of an online simulation tool in cooperation with Pinkafeld University.
