Conference introduction
In March 2009, the world's largest mummy exhibition (previously shown in Mannheim and Schloss Gottorf in Germany) will move to the North Italian city Bolzano, home of the Tyrolean Iceman "Oetzi". To mark the occasion, the EURAC Institute for Mummies and the Iceman is staging the first Bolzano Mummy Congress with the main theme "Mummies and Life Sciences" on March 19-21, 2009. The scientific programme will primarily focus on the application of biomedical sciences in mummy studies.

Abstracts information:
You are invited to send an abstract with (provisional) title for speeches or posters.
Abstracts are invited in the main topic areas of the conference, for consideration by the scientific committee. Abstracts will be published in the congress catalogue. After the congress in 2009 will be published a Proceedings copy.
The abstract should not exceed 300 words including title and authors but not references. Please prepare your abstract in English, single spaced and 12 pt font. The Bolzano Mummy Congress 2009 Committee will notify the first (or sole) authors upon receipt of their abstracts, review each abstract before accepting it for the Scientific Program, and send a notification of the Committee's decision on acceptance and format of delivery allocated.
Deadline for receipt of abstracts: 15th December 2008.
Only contributions complying with the above specifications will be considered. Please send one copy of this complete information as a *.doc -File to the EURAC Institute for mummies and the Iceman, eMail: mummies.iceman@eurac.edu , Tel. (0039)-0471-055560.
Authors will be notified of the decision of the Programme Committee. Authors of accepted abstracts will receive special guidelines for the preparation of the final papers for the Proceedings.

Review procedure:
Papers will be presented in plenary, oral and poster sessions and all presented papers will be published in the Proceedings.
