With the goal of sensitizing the South Tyrolean population to the subject of genetic medicine, a series of lectures, "Genetic Research: The Future of Medicine?" was held from 19 April to 29 May 2002. Internationally recognized scientists from various countries convened at the Kolpinghaus in Bolzano to discuss this topic.
