For Our Future Visionaries

These workshops, which are open to interested school groups, aim to inspire the youth by showing them that important medical research is taking place in South Tyrol. Visiting students have the chance to observe the work of a genetic medicine research lab, and even to perform their own experiments.

The Workshops are divided into two parts:  First, a theoretical presentation of the field of genetic medicine is presented and the reasons for South Tyrol's importance in the field, and second, a hands-on part in which the students perform basic laboratory procedures (like DNA extraction or the reconstruction of genetic "fingerprints") under the supervision of professional researchers.
