Course in technical writing and computer aided translation

is supported by the Office for Linguistic Issues of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, and the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators (SSLMIT) of Forlì (University of Bologna), and financed  by the European Social Fund.

      

The course intends to answer the need for training in the field of specialised communication, voiced with increasing frequency by professionals working in this field.


The course is subdivided into the following modules:

1) common compulsory module 'Specialised Communication': The role of special language texts within professional communication, introduction into terminology work, use of corpora and web resources for terminology and translation, terminology management systems;


2) vocational modules (alternative to each other):

2a) Computer aided translation & localisation
: introduction into computer aided translation and localisation, practical application;

2b) Technical and professional writing:
introduction into technical writing, quality management systems and project management, legal drafting and use of plain language.
