Specialised Communication
Beside the traditional projects dedicated to legal and administrative terminology in Italian and German, the research focus on "Specialised Communication" comprises new fields and languages, thus including the Ladin language as well as other languages of the Alpine arc (French and Slovene) and terminology work on environment and spatial planning. The experience gathered with the multilingual terminology work is currently applied to some specific sectors, such as university law, to the production of reference works on legal terminology and also a post-bachelor course on all issues related to translation.
Such research is complemented by the resources offered by computational linguistics, especially corpus linguistics, which contributes with new methods of collection and analysis of texts, terminology extraction and concept representation.
