 | SHORT DESCRIPTION | | | Conceived as a conclusion to and test of the preceding expert work, DIAMONT Work Packages 10 and 11 dealt with the implementation of participatory processes, aiming at submitting a number of identified sustainable development instruments for assessment by the local stakeholders of six selected Alpine Test Regions—hence to develop shared resolution strategies for highlighted problems. Two workshops per test region – basically operating in a 'World Café' participatory approach – have shown, among other things, that one shared crucial issue defines strong regional specificity: the ability to manage local assets in order to effectively address the challenges posed by everevolving competition between regions. This includes working in the correct spatial, temporal and institutional perspective, as well as strengthening cultural and social identity through cooperation and public participation in decision-making. |
