Cristian Pattaro graduated in Statistical and Economical Sciences at University of Padova in 1999. Between 2000-06 he was a research fellow at the Unit of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics of the University of Verona. During this period he also spent one year at the Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore), after which he obtained his PhD in Biomedical Statistics at the University of Milano with a thesis on haplotype block recognition. Cristian joined the Institute in 2006. His scientific interests are the development of statistical methods for the analysis of genomic data, and the design of epidemiological studies for assessing gene-environment interactions in complex diseases.
