Information and communication technologies are being used across the world to generate efficiency gains for farmers. This has led to an information and data explosion also at the industrial level with an associated increase in new applications, tools, actors, and business models. Agri-food systems are being transformed.
What are the needs of farmers, breeders, producers and consumers? Will the new technologies (BigData, AI, nano tech, robotics, drones, IoT) really be for everyone’s use, even small farmers, and will
they be able to enhance the agro-food economy? What solutions can local IT companies already offer the sector? Can the Data and Digital Revolution help to meet the needs of the agricultural sector?
Finally, how can we benefit from the actions promoted at European level and how can we best organise in order to contribute to the development programmes in Europe (Common Agriculture Policy,
Digital Single Market, European Innovation Partnership)? This workshop will allow us to answer these questions by bringing together local stakeholders and introducing best practice models from other regional contexts, with a view to developing innovative products and services for agri-food.
Participation is free.
