Project Monitoring Europahütte
EURAC researchers of the photovoltaic group involved in the installation operations of the monitoring equipment on "Europahütte" at 2693 mt. altitudeThe PVS group provides support to the German company Acantha for the evaluation of meteo data at high altitude (e.g. radiation and wind). The objective is to demonstrate the feasibility of a photovoltaic and microwind system to provide electricity to the Europa mountain hut, which is situated on the border between Italy and Austria.The first phase involves the installation of the weather station and the evaluation of the data. A second phase will follow for the sizing of the PV and microwind system.
