Eurac Research is looking for a

Researcher in the field of Performance & Reliability of photovoltaic systems
We are looking for a researcher in the field of Performance & Reliability of Photovoltaic systems and components. The aim of the research is to perform detailed inspections of PV systems and components, indoor and outdoor in order to explain the root causes of failures and performance degradation. To this aim the researcher will also apply Industry 4.0 logics.
· To perform field inspections of photovoltaic systems and single components and interpret the results
· To link the analysis of monitored data with the results from inspections to explain failure/performance losses
· To characterize PV components (PV modules and inverters) in the indoor labs
· To support the design of ad-hoc tests for companies with the aim of studying and testing particular failure modes and degradation processes
· To manage contacts with O&M companies and asset managers to provide services and seek for possible funded projects
· To apply Industry 4.0 logics in the PV sector
· To contribute to the development of CEI/IEC norms concerning PV inspection equipment 
· More than 4 years experience in the PV sector or PhD degree in the field of electric engineering or similar
· Knowledge of photovoltaic systems and monitoring parameters
· Experience with inspection equipment (IV-tracers, IR, EL) and O&M activities in the field
· Willingness to look for and manage contacts with O&M companies / asset managers
· Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g. R, Python or Matlab)
· Knowledge of datalogging systems and sensors
· Proactive attitude
· Ability to work both autonomously, and in a team
· Excellent written and spoken English skills; knowledge of Italian or German
