Senior Technician Responsible for the Project Management and the Implementation of Energy Monitoring Systems

The Institute for Renewable Energy runs several monitoring systems for laboratory tests and on-site applications concerning innovative energy systems. We are looking for a senior technician with both managerial and operative experience to manage the projects in this field and implement the systems. The ideal candidate is able to deal with the increasing number of systems and of complexity, supervising the technicians involved in the project and assuring high quality standards in due time. On the other hand, she/he actively contributes to the realization of the system.



  • Management of all monitoring projects inside the institute – from first design to final dismission
  • Supervision of the involved engineers and technicians, assuring quality, timing and proper budget management
  • Active implementation of monitoring systems on both hardware and software sides, from first design and identification of components to the assembling, from firmware/software editing to set up of communication with the existing internal database
  • Contribution to the shaping and pursuing of the institute's strategy in developing monitoring systems (e.g. standardized/low consumption solutions)
  • Contribution to the establishment of procedures and tests to guarantee the robustness and reliability of monitoring systems and the availability of quality data
  • Management of data according to privacy, safety, and security requirements



  • Master's degree in engineering or higher degree
  • Previous working experience as manager of monitoring or system control projects
  • Previous working experience as developer of monitoring or control systems
  • Knowledge of metrology
  • Knowledge of norms and requirements for monitoring systems certification, safety and security, quality, data privacy management
  • Problem-solving attitude, and competence in working in a structured way
  • Good interpersonal and communicative skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the Italian or German language. Good knowledge of English language
