Eurac Research is looking for a

Trainee for the project “GreenRisk4ALPs” within the field of risk assessment related to natural hazards
 
Eurac Research is an interdisciplinary research centre located in Bolzano, Italy. One research focus lies on the development and implementation of risk assessments in relation to natural hazards and climate change. Within the framework of the project "GreenRisk4ALPs" (http://www.alpine-space.eu/projects/greenrisk4alps/en/home), funded by the Alpine Space Interreg Programme of the European Commission, we are looking for a Trainee to support the Eurac project activities.

Tasks:
· Support of project activities related to the integrated risk assessments and analysis of natural hazards
· Data collection and information management within the scope of the project’s test cases
· Literature review (e.g. on available forest scenarios)
· Support in planning, organization and implementation of participatory events, such as workshops
· Generation of project reports in English and support of administrative tasks

Requirements:

Essential
· Ongoing study or degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Forestry or similar, preferable with a multi-disciplinary background
· Experience in data analysis/data management using GIS
· Interest to work in the field of mountain natural hazards, associated risks and protection forest
· Good command of spoken and written English
· Written and oral command of one of the two main languages spoken in South Tyrol: German and Italian
· Team working, motivation to learn and personal initiative

Desired
· Experience in the field of risk assessments related to mountain natural hazards and/or protection forest
· Experience in statistical data analysis
