Participation on the 68th AIEST Conference in Treviso
The 68th conference of the international association of scientific experts in tourism (AIEST) was held from 26th August to 30th August 2018 in Treviso in Italy. Eurac Research’s Center for Advanced Studies joined the annual conference entitled “Co-creating tourism experiences: chances, frontiers and limitations”. The contribution of Greta Erschbamer, Hannes Thees and Harald Pechlaner as a research cooperation between the Center for Advanced Studies of Eurac Research and the chair in Tourism of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in Germany, covered the topic of blockchain and tourism. The researchers presented a study on the current development and possible potentials of the blockchain technology in tourism and its influence on traditional value chains in the tourism industry. Harald Pechlaner has been re-elected president of AIEST (https://www.aiest.org/aiest-profile/organisation/) at the Treviso conference.
