2nd Bolzano Mummy Congress - Mummies from the ice
20 - 22 October 2011
The 2nd Bolzano Mummy Congress took place during the 20th anniversary of the Iceman’s discovery. It was an ideal opportunity for experts from archaeology, anthropology and medicine to come to the Iceman’s conservation site and discuss the results of 20 years of research. Since 1991, countless scientists and archaeologists have dedicated their work to different studies on the Iceman’s remains, assisted by the introduction of rapidly improving technologies. This conference was mainly focused on ice mummies in general and the Iceman in particular and included archeological, anthropological and conservation studies, as well as biomlecular researches.
