Law Dictionary Italian-German
01.01.2006 - 31.12.2016
Detailed Description

The project aims at creating an Italian-German terminological dictionary of legal terms to be published by Zanichelli. The dictionary intends to support information exchange between Italy and the German speaking countries. It collects and compares the Italian and Austrian, German, Swiss and South Tyrolean-German terminology pertaining to an ample selection of legal domains. Starting point is the Italian legal system and terminology. The methodology adopted follows a terminological approach for the presentation of legal concepts and terms, but allows for a lexicographic approach concerning collocations, phraseology and fixed expressions. In this way, the dictionary hopes to respond to a wide range of needs voiced by legal experts, civil servants, translators, interpreters, technical writers, universities, etc. during text production and reception.
