FairCare- The network based solution for collaborative future care
01.05.2015 - 30.06.2018
ABSTRACT

The project’s objective is to improve the allocation and scalability of existing professional care resources, potential informal care resources and care related services by orchestrating an innovative and accessible model for future care. FairCare is a network based solution for collaborative future care which allows for innovative business processes through a disruptive business model. FairCare aims to close the emerging gap between increasing demand for care and available resources by utilizing existing supply of care for older adults more efficiently and by optimizing resource allocation and management through means of self-management by primary end-users and their linked informal caregivers. The integration of quality assurance measures on a regional, national and European level will help to advance care at home and in the community. FairCare contributes to sustainable care systems in the future.

Project Description

FaiCare is a transnational project to develop an ICT solution for improving the allocation of and scaling up the accessibility to existing professional care resources, potential informal care resources and to services related to care by implementing a new way of care orchestration and care models through a network based solution for collaborative future care that allows innovative business processes and a disruptive business model.

The motivation behind the FairCare idea is to realize a new way of reconciling professional care, volunteer work, informal care, self-management and service delivery by optimizing resource allocation and capabilities concerning the definition, classification and coordination of primary end-users´ needs in order to meet individuals’ comprehensive health, care and service needs with quality assured and effective outcomes. To avoid organizational silos, and to overcome structural barriers and conventional procedures during the deployment of coordinated care and to achieve best value and care offers, FairCare is set up as a holistic solution for future care. Collaboration functionalities supported by automated processes and easier self-management possibilities take into account the different pools of human resources and various forms and structures of caregiving within, between and across institutional care organizations, professional care and service providers on the market. In order to reach and widen pools of qualified resources, especially qualified volunteers, FairCare provides a new access and service model (e.g. FairCare social franchise network providing standardized collaboration processes, coaching and training, e-learning incl. training content, certification possibilities and support) to better match individual demand with need-based supply across organisational and structural boarders in the future.
