Enhancing capacities for a pluralistic Alpine Space
01.11.2016 - 31.10.2019
Detailed Description

The Alpine area is experiencing the combined challenges of an ageing population and new migration models. At the same time, this provides opportunities for social innovation by means of an open and creative approach to diversity, and for a deliberately sought pluralism. Rural regions and mountain areas need new approaches for a firmly anchored welcoming culture.

PlurAlps aims to support municipalities, small- and medium sized enterprises, as well as civil society in developing such a welcoming culture. This strengthens the attractiveness and social cohesion in rural areas.

In PlurAlps, the Eurac Research Institute for Regional Development works on the foundations for improving strategies for social planning and integration of migrants. In South Tyrol, Eurac develops pilot projects focused on migration, social and labor market integration. The institute is also involved in transferring the results to political decision makers.
