ABSTRACT
Observatory for monitoring, analysing and describing the social, economic and environmental conditions of the UNESCO Dolomites World Heritage areas.
Project Description
The project ”Dolomites UNESCO Observatory” aims at facilitating dialogue and partnerships between civil society and territorial institutions in the field of sustainable development of the Dolomites World Heritage Site. The Observatory aims at organising public hearings, conferences, platforms for exchanging data and good practices, as well as workshops and publishing impact studies in order to contribute to policy makers’ decisions and civil society’s opinions. The Observatory’s activities will be in line with the guidelines and objectives of the Education and Scientific Research Network of the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation also to monitor progresses towards the Overall Management Strategies Goals (OMSGs). The observatory will collaborate with similar bodies at local, regional and national level, as well as with social partners and other civil society organisations within and outside the Dolomites Area. Its core mission will be to monitor the activities to promote sustainability in the Dolomites UNESCO territories by advancing economic prosperity, social inclusiveness and environmental responsibility in an integrated and balanced approach.
