Research plays a critical role in culture, politics, and society; however, sometimes the language used by the scientific community can make it inaccessible to the general public. Eurac Research interacts with the local population of South Tyrol through a variety of tools that can be adapted to differing interests and expectations.
For example, our popular science magazine Academia invites readers to discover the work of the research centre through captivating articles and interviews. Schools are also an important part of our outreach to the community, which is why we offer a programme of theme-centred laboratories for young people.
Finally, every two years we open our doors to the public on “Researchers’ Night”. For one evening, people of all ages can participate in hands-on experiments and meet face-to-face with the scientists behind the research.
