What does Re-globalization mean?
New publications and upcoming conference
Re-globalization is one of the core theoretical research foci for the Center for Advanced Studies, together with glocalization.
CAS co-head
Roland Benedikter explains the concept and its realities in a
recent article for the journal
New Global Studies in a short and easily accessible way.
According to Roland, re-globalization is the process of deep change globalization is currently undergoing, including its reform and renewal - one that may also fundamentally affect local and regional realities.
Re-globalization and its effects also feature at the center of CAS‘ topical series in the journal
Global-e, which is based on the introductory text by
Ingrid Kofler and Roland “Globalization’s Current Transition Phase: The 5 R’s” and now comprises 19 published essays. In addition, the topic will be addressed in the Center's 2nd Annual Major Globalization Conference “Understanding Globalization” in May 2021 and a forthcoming CAS-published book on "Re-Globalization. Globalization's New Frontiers" in the Routledge series "Rethinking Globalizations".
