About
Irene Lara-Ibeas received a MS in Analytical Chemistry in 2016 and a PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2019, both from the University of Strasbourg (France). During her thesis, her research was focused on different aspects related to volatile organic compounds, from the development of portable microfludic systems for their detection to indoor air quality monitoring campaigns. Afterwards, she worked as a Research Fellow in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Michigan (USA) where she was developing and testing micro gas chromatography systems for the detection of air pollutants and hazardous substances.
In September 2021, she joined Eurac Research as a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Institute for Renewable Energy. Currently, her research activities are mainly centered on promoting healthy buildings, characterizing emissions from envelope materials and defining strategies to improve indoor air quality.
