Congratulations to Sofia Teverovsky Korsic for her PhD

  • English

On October 18th, Sofia Teverovsky Korsic successfully defended her PhD dissertation last week at the Universidad Nacional de Luján. She was supported in her research by Claudia Notarnicola (Eurac Research) and Cristina Serafini (UNLU). The title of her PhD is "Contribution of snow melting in a Central Andes range basin of Argentina through advanced remote sensing techniques".

In her thesis, satellite data processing methodologies are explored and implemented to help the understanding of the snow dynamics and water supply in mountain rivers. The current data availability from optical and microwave sensors, such as Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), is used to develop tools that contribute to the management of water resources in the arid and semi-arid regions of the Andes Mountain range.
