Project description

The research project Tiny FOP MOB, the small FOrschungs- und Praxis-MOBil, is a building project, education and research initiative in one. It aims to encourage people to think about sustainability in the building industry and beyond, and already provides a concrete example of how this can be done. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2014-2020, the project involves the design, construction and actual use of a CO2-negative real laboratory on wheels - a new form of cooperation between research and society.

The prototype is intended to create space for the development of innovative solutions and ideas as well as transdisciplinary connections between centre and periphery, between science and crafts, practice and theory. The Tiny FOP MOB is thus a means of transport in two senses. The mobile real laboratory will stop in five pilot communities in the Venosta Valley to work together on sustainable solutions. It stands for itself as a sustainable product and is at the same time a meeting place for workshops and actions around the topics of socio-ecological responsibility.
