This is Dariush Ghasemi-Semeskandeh, holding a BSc in Statistics from University of Mazandaran and a MSc in Biostatistics from Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. My master thesis titled "Data Mining on Patients HbA1c Rate Before and After Performing the Family Physician Plan in Mazandaran (2010-2018) via Artificial Neural Networks".

I was so lucky that a couple of months passing from graduating my master program in September 2019, I was accepted in an Europe 2020 Horizon PhD program (TrainCKDis) at the department of Human Genetics at Leiden University Medical Center, Netherlands. Since February 2021 when I moved from Iran and started my new three-year journey as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie PhD fellow in the department of Biostatistics & Epidemiology at the Institute for Biomedicine, I've been working on the data derived from a large population-based cohort study in South-Tyrol (CHRIS) to take one step forward in finding the causal variants for patients having the potential for chronic kidney disease.

We are now applying GWAS followed by Linkage Analysis using various tools being used in Statistical Genetics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Genomics fields, to analyze genome wide association (GWA) at the first step, and in the second one we intend to pool whole exome sequencing (WES), and whole genome sequencing (WGS) data.
