5 Reasons for doing a PhD @ Eurac Research
Eurac Research is committed to guiding and supervising PhD students. PhD students who come to Eurac benefit from its excellent infrastructure and expand their horizons through interdisciplinary encounters and skill development via on-the-job training, in-house education courses and our international networks. There are many reasons to pursue a PhD in Eurac Research, but we think the following 5 are particulary good.
Eurac Research has well-established contacts with numerous universities in Italy and abroad where PhD students are enrolled and where their main supervisors are usually based.
In addition to their university supervisors, each PhD student has a tutor in Eurac Research who supervises the student during their time here.
Each PhD project contributes to the research topics of our Institutes and Centers, which brings daily opportunities to share ideas and research and learn from other projects in Eurac Research.
Each PhD student is integrated into one of our Institutes or Centers, where they participate in the scientific and organisational activities relevant to their PhD project. This brings many opportunities to develop both research and transferable skills through on-the-job training and working in a team and helps to enhance the PhD students’ future career prospects.
Eurac Research is very active in applying for and winning EU-funded research projects. Many of the PhD projects undertaken in Eurac Research are embedded in such EU-funded projects, enabling the PhD students to develop international networks and collaborations and introducing them to the practical workings of EU-funded research.
