Cambiamento globale nelle regioni di montagna

Le aree montane sono ecoregioni particolarmente soggette ai cambiamenti globali a livello mondiale. La globalizzazione e i cambiamenti strutturali ed economici ad essa connessi nonché agli effetti dei cambiamenti climatici si ripercuoteranno sia negli ambienti naturali che culturali in tutto l’arco alpino. Gli effetti saranno visibili sia a livello di uso del suolo che a livello strutturale e funzionale degli ecosistemi e del paesaggio in genere.

Lo scopo del presente progetto è quello di analizzare alcuni aspetti specifici dei cambiamenti ecologici in territorio montano e delle driving forces ad essi connessi. In questo contesto la ricerca si concentra sul mutamento paesaggistico dovuto all’attività umana e ai cambiamenti climatici, e sulle funzioni ecosistemiche ad esse associato, come ad esempio cambiamenti nella biodiversità, nei cicli biochimici o nel bilancio idrico. L’approccio scientifico prevede una combinazione di metodi di telerilevamento applicato, rilevazioni in campo e modelli di simulazione.
