Project funded by

Research in the field of environmental monitoring in South Tyrol requires access to heterogeneous information on environmental sensors.

The Environmental Sensing Lab at the Bolzano Technology Park - NOI is an innovative research infrastructure, the result of a joint initiative between the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano and Eurac Research, dedicated to the development of innovative solutions for environmental monitoring and for the automation of sensor-based measurements. The infrastructure makes use of innovative technologies towards the IoT and a common digital platform for the organization and use of environmental data for the benefit of Eurac Research and LUB, other provincial and external scientific partners, private companies and public administration.

The project DPS4ESLAB - Data Platform and Sensing Technologies for ESLAB - aims to create an innovative infrastructure in the spaces of the Bolzano Technology Park, NOI that opens up to innovative technologies for (i) characterization of environmental sensors, (ii) integration, processing and distribution of signals and data and for (iii) validation and verification of the functionality of integrated systems and monitoring applications. In addition, the project provides for the strengthening of the data infrastructure for research by developing an interoperable and federated platform for environmental data, which will allow the collection, analysis and dissemination of data and products and services for environmental monitoring in different case studies.
