  • Project duration: December 2017 - December 2019
  • Project status:
  • Funding:
    Internal funding EURAC (Project)
  • Total project budget: €18,450.00

Large carnivores (LC) are wide ranging wildlife species that play a crucial role in ecosystem structure, health and function. South Tyrol, like other European and Italian mountain regions, is facing new issues emerging from the natural return or reintroduction of LC\342\200\231s species (Wolf and Brown Bear) in their original environment. Eurac Research wants to play a neutral role regarding these issues and give to local people and stakeholders the opportunity to create their own opinion.\302\240

What we do

Our research addresses the greatest challenges facing us in the future: people need health, energy, well-functioning political and social systems and an intact environment. These are complex questions, and we are seeking the answers in the interaction between many different disciplines. In so doing, our research work embraces three major themes: regions fit for living in, diversity as a life-enhancing feature, a healthy society.
