With regard to energy saving and efficiency, some research lines on buildings have been identified by the Strategic Plan, including those in which LUB and EURAC are involved in the characterization of the dynamic behavior of the housing and facilities, and in the development of façade components and multifunctional systems of housing for the use of solar and heat pumps.

In order to create the technical conditions for the development of research and the promotion of technology transfer in the most promising areas of the scope described above, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano finances the construction of new research infrastructures and the upgrading of the existing ones, both with new investments and with the assumption of technical and research staff and the development of new skills.

Eurac Research logo

Eurac Research is a private research center based in Bolzano (South Tyrol) with researchers from a wide variety of scientific fields who come from all over the globe. Together, through scientific knowledge and research, they share the goal of shaping the future.

What we do

Our research addresses the greatest challenges facing us in the future: people need health, energy, well-functioning political and social systems and an intact environment. These are complex questions, and we are seeking the answers in the interaction between many different disciplines. In so doing, our research work embraces three major themes: regions fit for living in, diversity as a life-enhancing feature, a healthy society.
