LISE

Legal Language Interoperability Services

  • Deutsch
  • English
  • Italiano

The main purpose of the LISE project is to support public as well as private organisations in exchanging, expanding and cleaning their specialised monolingual or multilingual terminology, thus improving the quality of their terminological resources. LISE therefore develops an interactive web based service platform fostering terminology exchange and interoperability across different organisations and countries. Also, the partners will study existing terminology workflows and propose specific guidelines.

LISE develops an interactive web based service platform that gives access to three dedicated tools, for the a) semi-automatic clean-up; b) semi-automatic fill-up; c) semi-automatic harmonization of terminological resources. The service is workflow-oriented. As a consequence, LISE develops a working methodology for terminology experts to make interoperability of data services easier. Input and feedback on common terminology management and terminology standardisation workflows come from recognised best practices in the field of legal and administrative terminology management. The focus of the project lies on this type of terminology, because clear, correct and coherent communication in these domains is particularly crucial, especially at international level.

EURAC is involved in the research on terminology workflows, which will serve as an input for further developing and fine-tuning the tools. EURAC will also provide an adaptation of the most common workflows to the use of the LISE platform and tools and draft guidelines for legal/administrative terminology work.
