On Südtirolo Pride 2025 and LGBTQIA+ rights in Italy

Organized by the [Alto Adige Pride Südtirol](https://pride.bz.it/it/about/) association, founded specifically for this purpose on 6 December 2023, the first [Südtirolo Pride](https://pride.bz.it/it/28-06-2025-bolzano/) held on 28 June 2025 in Bolzano/Bozen, South Tyrol was a vibrant celebration of about [5,000 participants](https://salto.bz/de/article/28062025/il-pride-arcobaleno-invade-bolzano), celebrating diversity in line with earlier Pride marches organized in the [area](https://www.dolomitipride.it/it-IT/chi-siamo). The parade, which was the highlight of the day, featured colorful floats, performances, and speeches advocating for greater inclusivity and acceptance as well as for LGBTQIA+ rights and visibility. Südtirolo Pride 2025’s motto was [unity across borders](https://franzmagazine.com/2025/06/03/sudtirolo-pride-scrivere-una-nuova-pagina-della-storia-dell-alto-adige) in a territory that spans the cultural and linguistic divides of Italy and Austria.
