Mapping Climate Justice Movements in South Tyrol (ASCEND project)

This report discusses deliverable D.2.2, which aimed to address the main objective of the ClimAte JuStiCe and INtersectionality: from ADaptation to Transformation (ASCEND) project to explore climate justice approaches and dynamics through an intersectional lens. In this report, we present our theoretical framework, methodology, structure, results, and findings as they contribute to advancing the study of mapping climate justice movements in South Tyrol. For the purposes of ASCEND, climate justice is understood as a theoretical, analytical and practical framework with both descriptive and normative goals. These understandings are reflected in the theoretical approach that we have employed in which an intersectional lens was applied through a bifurcated frame to discuss vulnerability and inclusion of marginalized communities in climate justice movements.
