Luisa Faustini Torres

Luisa Faustini Torres holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She is a senior researcher at GRITIM-UPF and a member of TransDeM-UAB, and currently serves as Project Manager of the EuroMedMig PhD Network (MSCA Doctoral Network) at UPF (2025–2029), a four-year international doctoral network promoting the co-production of knowledge on migration in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of EU external migration policies on political regimes in North Africa, drawing on fieldwork conducted in Morocco. Her research interests include migration politics and policies, processes of democratization and autocratization, and the political participation of diasporas, with a particular focus on Brazil and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
