Emergency response preparedness
GLOMOS's efforts extend to advancing emergency response preparedness, including multi-hazard early-warning systems and anticipatory action.
This crucial topic is approached under different perspectives, varying from contributing to understanding the role of local risk perception for risk governance and decision making, to developing a forecast-based financing and anticipatory action approach, as well as developing drone applications within mountain environments.
Literature review on risk perception in mountain regions: “Risk perception in mountain regions: social determinants of climate change around the globe”
A literature review by GLOMOS researchers on climate change risk perception in global mountain regions has been initiated and will be published in 2021. This paper was undertaken in response to a call for papers to facilitate the 6th Assessment Report of Working Group II of the IPCC.
