Come viene percepito e sfruttato il potenziale del plurilinguismo nelle scuole altoatesine? Come può la scuola superare la prassi del monolinguismo e affrontare con cognizione di causa le sfide poste da una società pluriculturale e plurilingue? Scopo ultimo del progetto SMS 2.0 è quello di misurare quanto il plurilinguismo è presente nelle scuole altoatesine e come esso viene percepito e “maneggiato” da insegnanti e studenti. Sulla base dello studio e dell’analisi dei dati raccolti si svilupperanno materiali e strumenti a supporto di un’adeguata promozione linguistica degli alunni che frequentano classi caratterizzate da una sempre maggiore eterogeneità linguistica (si porrà particolare attenzione a quei discenti le cui prime lingue differiscono dalle lingue di insegnamento della scuola) e grazie ai quali sarà possibile rafforzare le competenze interculturali di tutti gli studenti e aumentarne le opportunità in campo formativo e lavorativo. Obiettivi dell’iniziativa sono inoltre la promozione della consapevolezza e dell’attenzione linguistica così come l’identificazione del plurilinguismo come traguardo educativo.
