Advancing Digital Twin Solutions for Environmental Sustainability
The EnvironTwin Workshop – Digital Twin Innovations for Environmental Sustainability took place on 4 December 2025 at NOI Techpark, bringing together project partners, researchers, industry representatives, and public-sector stakeholders for a full day dedicated to the use of Digital Twin technologies in real-world applications. Great insights were provided by Konverto, SIAG, R3GIS, Photogram, Arbor Insight, and Waterjade, who presented how Digital Twins are being adopted for water management, agriculture, urban green management, and infrastructure management.
In addition to the contributions from our Eurac Research team participating in the project, the morning session showcased a range of perspectives on ongoing developments across these application domains.
In the afternoon, participants engaged in two thematic working groups, focusing on:
- Components and Data for Digital Twins
- Modelling: Physical and Data-Driven Approaches
These sessions enabled collaborative reflection on technical priorities, data requirements, and modelling strategies. As a key outcome, the discussions led to the creation of a Digital Twin Journey Map, capturing shared perspectives on future pathways and strategic steps for advancing Digital Twin solutions in environmental contexts.
The workshop provided an important opportunity for dialogue and knowledge exchange, contributing to a clearer and more integrated vision for the development of Environmental Digital Twins in South Tyrol and beyond.
