exCHANGE - Exploring Pathways of Art-Science Collaboration
exCHANGE is a transdisciplinary project by the Center for Advanced Studies at Eurac Research in collaboration with the Südtiroler Künstlerbund, exploring how art and science can jointly address social inequalities. Six tandems, each composed of an artist and a researcher, tackled their own projects merging analytical inquiry with creative expression. These collaborations aimed to make social inequalities more tangible and emotionally resonant, fostering public engagement and new perspectives. Alongside the tandem projects, researchers studied the collaborative process itself, examining how interdisciplinary exchange shapes thinking, and understanding of inequality. This dual-level approach not only produced innovative artworks and research outputs but also generated valuable insights into the dynamics of art-science partnerships. The project culminates in a public exhibition at the Südtiroler Künstlerbund and terraXcube in Bolzano.
