Climate change adaptation in the tourism sector
Tourism in the Puster Valley and beyond faces a number of climate risks that affect both summer and winter tourism. The roadmap for climate change adaptation in tourism uses the case study of the Puster Valley to show how climate risks manifest themselves in this area, how adaptation to these risks can be achieved, what specific steps are necessary, and who should be involved in the planning and implementation of these measures. The content of the roadmap was developed through a broad participatory process involving two stakeholder workshops. The description of this participatory process, general recommendations for adaptation and concrete steps for replicating the roadmap should enable its application in other contexts as well.
