From 15 November 2025 to 7 February 2026, Lungomare presents Through the Prism of Borders in Bolzano—a dispersed exhibition spanning four museums, Eurac Research square, and urban poster spaces. Conceived within the European research program B-Shapes, this project explores the multifaceted meanings of borders and their political, spatial, and personal narratives.
The exhibition brings together works by seven international artists and collectives, addressing themes of migration, collective memory, identity, and the relationship with landscape. For the first time in Europe, visitors will see Documenting Border Barriers, a drawing series by Canadian artist Pamela Dodds, alongside works by South Tyrolean artist Karin Schmuck from the series opposites, created at the Italy–Austria border.
This stage follows a previous presentation at the National Museum of History in Sofia and marks the culmination of a three-year artistic and curatorial research journey.
