Advancing Quality and Innovation in Public Administration
The Institute of Public Management had the honor of being part of the Italian delegation at the 10th European CAF Users’ Event held on April 10th 2025, at the PGE Narodowy stadium in Warsaw. The event began with an opening ceremony on April 9th at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, highlighted by a concert that fostered a spirit of collaboration and common objectives. Led by the Italian CAF National correspondent, Luca Romanini, the delegation participated in various sessions that showcased 18 Golden CAF good practices from 13 different countries. For Italy, the region of Apulia highlighted the development of a CAF competency center for local municipalities and the effective implementation of the model by the Apulian regional administration and four municipalities. The event, organized under the theme "Smart Management: People-Centred, Performance-Based," was inaugurated by Anita Noskowska-Piątkowska, Head of the Civil Service, and Marco Ongaro, Director-General of the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA).
Throughout the conference, we had the chance to engage in in-depth discussions on quality management and the benefits of CAF for organizations and societies. Highlights included presentations on European good management practices and thematic sessions focused on empowering employees and transformation processes in the public sector. The event also featured esteemed speakers such as Małgorzata Bywanis-Jodlińska, Director of Lech Kaczyński National School of Public Administration; Gregor Virant, Head of the OECD SIGMA Programme; and Maja Handjiska-Trendafilova, Director of the Regional School of Public Administration (ReSPA). We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this significant international event and look forward to further enhancing the CAF network, continuing our journey towards public sector excellence.
