HURRICANE (Holistic UGV-based Resilient and Real-time Intelligence for Crisis and Natural Emergency) is a funded Horizon Europe project in the Disaster-Resilient Society programme aiming to enhance autonomous or semi-autonomous UGV systems for use in hazardous environments.
HURRICANE will unlock the full potential of Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) by integrating enhanced vision, UAV-UGV cooperation, and multi-technology communication systems into a real-time situational awareness infrastructure. Our approach will provide data-driven optimization models and a user-friendly API to support first responders with actionable recommendations.
Key Innovations in HURRICANE:
- Advanced UAV-UGV collaboration for rapid response
- Multi-technology communication for robust connectivity
- AI-driven situational awareness for first responders
- Real-world pilot demonstrations to validate impact
- EU-wide training modules to integrate these solutions into emergency operations
