Charité Berlin and South Tyrol strengthen collaboration in Biomedicine and Innovation

The collaboration in health, biomedicine, and innovation between Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and South Tyrol is set to continue and expand. On December 18, representatives from Charité met in Bolzano with the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Eurac Research, the South Tyrolean Health Service (SABES), and the NOI Techpark, all of whom are actively involved as partners in this cooperation.

As populations age, the shared goal is to increase the number of healthy years of life. A cross-regional research collaboration with Charité Berlin and South Tyrol aims to address this challenge by strengthening prevention, including at the molecular level, and by advancing individualized preventive strategies. Discussions focused on joint research areas, structured exchange programs, and the development of a closer collaboration in Precision Health and Biomedical Innovation. In the long term, a stable research partnership is planned, with a Memorandum of Understanding expected in 2026, alongside the launch of initial joint projects.

The Institute for Biomedicine looks forward to this valuable collaboration and will continue to focus on research in Precision Health, aiming to strengthen prevention and healthcare in South Tyrol and beyond.
