From 30 March to 1 April 2026, Francesca Rosignoli, Senior Researcher at Eurac Research – Institute for Minority Rights and Institute for Comparative Federalism, presented the paper “How is Subnational Governance Responding to Climate Emergencies? The Citizens' Assemblies for Climate in South Tyrol and Vorarlberg as a Case in Point” at the 76th Annual International Conference of the Political Studies Association (PSA), held at the Examinations School, University of Oxford.
The presentation explored how subnational governance is responding to climate emergencies, with a particular focus on the role of Citizens’ Assemblies for Climate in South Tyrol and Vorarlberg, analyzed as comparative case studies. The conference provided an excellent opportunity for international academic exchange on key issues related to participatory democracy, climate governance, and comparative federalism.
