The Imagine Peace (IP) project is now in full progress, and Eurac Research – in collaboration with the University of Innsbruck – has officially launched its contribution.

The team developed a set of guidelines with 54 practical recommendations covering environmental, social and economic dimensions to support festival organizers in improving the sustainability of their cultural events. To make the assessment more participatory, a questionnaire was also developed to be distributed at the festivals, collecting valuable feedback from participants directly from a front-end perspective.
The audit season kicked off in Croatia and Germany with two vibrant events: the Visualia Festival of Light in Pula and the Essen Light Festival!
The first results are already in! Researchers from the Institute for Public Management collected 408 responses in Pula and 168 in Essen, with many participants offering thoughtful comments. These insights are now being analyzed and will inform the upcoming audits with the organizers in November.
While final reports are still in progress – expected by year-end – the initial findings show promising engagement and growing sustainability awareness across all stakeholders.
