About

Daniele Anania is a researcher at the Institute for Renewable Energy at Eurac Research, where he works on the decarbonisation of district heating systems. His research combines aggregated energy planning models with detailed network simulations to support the integration of renewable and waste heat sources.

His work focuses on technical-economic optimisation and scenario analysis to identify cost-effective pathways for the transition towards low-carbon heating systems. He is actively involved in European research projects such as HeatMineDH and LIFE4HeatRecovery, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for district heating decarbonisation.

In addition to his research activities, he has contributed to technical consultancy projects for district heating utilities, supporting strategic planning and the definition of decarbonisation roadmaps.
